Gypsy Rock-Benny Hill

'Uncle Benny' as he's forever known around these ere parts is much maligned in my opinion.
OK, the tv show' descended into the endless 'Benny-Benny -Hill' chases( a victim of his own popularity), but there is gold in them thar hills and it's ceratinly worth re-visiting...I think he was a comic genius meself...

Evil Hoodoo-The Seeds

Legendary Seeds vocalist Sky Sunlight Saxon died aged 71(maybe?) on 25th june,2009...I think he best summed up this 'happening' himself:

“Well, I think you could retire when you die. I don't, however, believe in death, so I guess I will retire when I leave my body. But I plan to continue writing and performing in heaven” Sky Sunlight Saxon March 2009

Burnley Is Babylon-Russ Abbot

Now Rastarfarianism isn't the first thing you associate with 'madcap' comic genius Russ Abbot, but here is the case for the defence. The legendary 'Burnley Is Babylon' by 'King Wilf and the Rastaplasts'.
So here we find our northern rasta man, 'knitting woolie hats and smoking me herb...'
Ee Bah Gum indeed...

War Canoe-Rolf Harris

Here is TV star, recording and 'fine' artiste Rolf Harris with his 60's hit 'War Canoe'.
I wonder if this was a big favourite of Adam Ant because his hit 'Prince Charming' sounds uncannily like this track...compare and contrast below...

Snot Rap-Kenny Everett

Here is Radio/Tv Star Kenny Everett with his 'Snot Rap', featuring his infamous character, Sid Snot...brings back good memeories of growing up watching the show. If you can track it down you should check out his feature film, 'Blood bath at the House Of Death', it's a shlock-horror thats well worth a look...incidentally, this record has been featured on various 'worst records ever'...surely some mistake!

Spider Baby-Lon Chaney Jr

Seem to be slipping into a bit of horror sub-genre here, but I'll roll with it with The Wolfman,Lon Chaney Jr and his 'Spider Baby'

Pork Chops-Vincent Price

Well, somebodies been at the Vincent Price Cookery records with the scissors to create this top tribute.
It's done the rounds, but for those of you unfamiliar with this,enjoy...Priceless stuff, you might say!

Boris Karloff + Chorus-The Pirate

The great Boris Karloff pitcured here in his role as 'Imohtep', in Universal's classic film 'The Mummy.'

La Vie C'est Chouette-Jodie Foster

Jodie Foster sings!
Taken from her 1977 film "Moi, Fleur Bleue" aka "Stop Calling Me Baby!"

What's Opera Doc-Chuck Jones (music Carl Stelling and Milt Franklin/Wagner)

Went out to see the play 'Twilight Of The Gods' by Julian Doyle at the 'Courtyard Theatre' last night and very good it was too. However afterwards in the pub this genius cartoon by the legendary Chuck Jones kept popping into my head...

It's A Rainbow-Rainbow

Remember Rainbow the kids tv show?
Probably...it ran from the 1970's up 1992...
Remember the picture of Geoffery Hayes stacking shelves and then the comeback and these rave tracks?

Well here are three mixes from that time, the Radio mix and Zippy's Rock mix and George's 'Furry Pink remix'.
I've left off Zippy's 'Big Twanger Mix' for now...couldn't fit it in...menkle eh?

Boo Bop Bopbop Bop (I Love You Too)-Pete's Dragon(vocals Sean Marshall and Charlie Callas)

Is there really a gay subtext to the Disney film Pete's Dragon or is it all just post-modern, revisionist tosh?
Whatever, they're very close...and the line  'you know what to say when I want direction' is worthy of a Carry On!
Listen for yourselves to the pornographic dischord...

Hippie and The Skinhead + Rape-Peter Wyngarde

Swarve man of mystery and inspiration for those Austin Powers films, Peter Wyngarde aka Jason King provides us with two tracks  from his imfamous LP, 'When Sex Leers It's Inquisitive Head'
Supposedly withdrawn shortly after it's release, the album has gone on to become a 'cult classic', commanding fees's of up to £200 for an original copy. I'm guessing the LP was withdrawn mainly for the track 'Rape', because the rest of it is fairly innocuous stuff, but, beware for as Jake Thackray used to say 'This song is offensive'.

It Was A Very Good Year-William Shatner

Well, I suppose I couldn't have one without the other, so here is William Shatner, Captain Kirk himself presenting us with his version of 'It Was A Very Good Year'.
It goes without saying that you should all listen to the Shat's greatest hits...'Spaced Out'
Found here alongside some of Spock's finest warblings....

HIghly Illogical and Spock Thoughts-Leonard Nimoy

Mr Spock making sweet music (see above) well certainly, although I'm afraid that 'Spock Thoughts' are not in fact his own but are taken from the famous poem by Max Ehrmann...imagine my disappointment.
These two tracks are form Nimoy's absolute classic LP 'Mr Spock's Music From Outer Space'. A must own I think.

The Soldier Wind-David Hemmings

So what to do if you're an iconic sixties film star?, well, fly out to LA to record an album with various members of the Byrds is what. 'David Hemmings Happens' was the result, from which this track is taken.

Pure Mystery-John Pertwee

Although Tom Baker was 'my Doctor Who', I have a great affection for Jon Pertwee in the role and looking back at the dandy image and fistfights, there is little wonder. He was great in this role and many other's.
I could probably fill  a few weeks worth of posts with Dr Who related tracks but for now I'll stick with this classic from the compilation LP 'Who Is Dr Who'.
